That's where we disagree, I listen to a broader range of music, on many more devices, more of the time because of the ease of use of the service. The service increases my consumption and enjoyment of music in a way that still having physical media, or even digital rips wouldn't allow.

Yeah I don’t need yet more stuff to fill time with, I need less!

I do not really care, i will be dead.

Spotify is probably the best streaming service going tbh, music, upcoming gigs, podcasts etc is great value. Would i pay more than a £10 for probably not, and certainty wouldn't spend that £10 on physical medium either.

Collecting CD`s, Records is just clutter to clear out.

I just buy digital copies of songs/albums. No clutter and much cheaper than £10pm. And I get to own and keep the music forever without having to pay again!

I did have a massive MP3 collection. Have whittled it down a bit in recent years. But I barely listen to any of it now.
Spotify Family with 5 people using it, amazing value and has allowed me to explore much more music than I would normally have.

I pay £3.50 per month for Spotify premium. I really love my music and spend a lot of time listening to it. I would always have bought at least one album a month at about £8-10, sometimes more for some more specialist music.

I can't see me cancelling any time soon. I know I get a REALLY cheap deal on it, but even if it were £10p/m I would likely still be subbing. I have only been streaming music for about 18 months but I can't believe I didn't move to it sooner.

Its a relatively small amount in the grand scheme of things but still a lot more than I’d ever pay for music and I wouldn’t even get to keep the stuff I’ve paid for. You’re also committing to renting music forever and the longer you keep it i’m guessing the stronger the feeling of Stockholm syndrome as you’ll always be aware that as soon as you stop paying you’ll lose the lot.

I guess you didn't read my last sentence? You don't lose anything. If I stop paying, I can still listen to absolutely any track that Spotify has to offer.

But I wouldn't be able to use it offline when I go running with my iPod. :(

That is one benefit I forget about, comes in handy when I'm flying.

Well, it's not my collection so no problems. Artists and labels can pull their tracks from streaming services at pretty much any time, so why bother worrying about it?

Sometimes I find something I like when shuffling through, then I'll buy whatever I want on physical formats or if it's the only way then I'll buy digital tracks (FLAC/DSD/DSF for preference as I can downsample from those as needed). If they're a smaller band, help the artist as directly as possible. Especially with the crap that happened with Pledgemusic recently (one of my favourite bands broke up because of it. :( https://www.richieprynne.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yry_WfodrRE)

My actual collection is safely sat on CD, DVD-Audio, SACD, Vinyl, 2 servers (100 miles apart) and an online backup service.
