Yesterday I had it serviced and a new rear tyre fitted at a local independent Suzuki specialist. He didn't do a great deal more than the service and tyre but did tidy up some bits, gave me some useful info about certain bits too. When I left his workshop it was hailing so my ride home was wet out and was super cautious given the new tyre.
Today I went out into town on the bike as it's sunny and dry (very cold mind) and wow, the small things he did and the service have made riding the bike so much nicer, it feels smoother and happier to rev up too, still being cautious given it's cold and the tyre is still new but it was an enjoyable ride about even if it was through town.

Yeah, was raining when I left, and snowing after a few miles. I have a choice between three season laminated goretex gloves (not mega warm, but don't bulk up in the wet) and non-laminated winter goretex gloves (warm but tend to get sodden). Chose the former and regretted it pretty quickly. Only four degrees, but the chill effect was immense this morning.

When I arrived at work, found that my 5-month old £1300 Klim Hardanger suit had leaked at the crotch. Not happy. :(

Swapped the weird bmw power outlet for a dual usb
New tank pad
Handlebar bag which works really well with the phone so no paying for a bmw sat nav

Gave it a wash! Got a PCV coming this week which I'm looking forward to getting fitted.

Am I right in thinking you’ve only had your license 6 months?

In 6 months you’ve had a Ducati, Street triple and now an S1000RR? You’re almost as bad as me for bikes :D :p

I’m currently on bike number 10 in 4 years :o

Yeah :o:o The RR is what got me into bikes when it was first launched, it was always the end goal but I assumed I'd take a bit of time working my way up to it. But after feeling like the striple also wasn't really my thing I kind of threw caution to the wind and went and got a gen 3 2015. Will be holding on to this one.

I was told quite a lot by people to stick with a 650cc bike for a few years but I made the jump to a 1000cc bike after 5 months, I had the S1000Rs and it’s still my favourite bike I’ve owned, would love to try an RR but I don’t get on with the leant over position :(

Polished it for the first time since I owned it :D

The bite point on the clutch suddenly moved out on the ride home yesterday. Checked chain, oil level, clutch flui and no leak at master cylinder - so can't see anything wrong. Checked clutch lever adjustment and it moves in notches. I can only assume it was sat in between one of the notches and finally slipped into one of them.

I found the RR position actually very comfy. Vastly better than the 899, it doesn't feel as if you're anywhere near as bent over. And the wideness of the tank/body almost forces you to grip with your knees which I think also releives some of the wrist pressure too. I got this plate for a while ago too, so I have to keep it now...
