It seems the race officials and marshals received a text early this morning (local time) that everything is still going ahead with two seater runs happening in a few hours.

Generally speaking, most of those actually working in F1 are young, fit and certainly not in any "at risk" group. There are though those that work within F1 that certainly fall within the "at risk" group. The FIA oversite at most races mainly consists of peeps over 60 at a minimum, most if not all of the senior marshals will be over 60. A lot of these will be full time and travel race to race. F1 should just pull the the first 5 or 6 races this year at least, until this starts to pan out and peeps and governments get a handle on things.

I’m not sure if they employ any full time Marshall’s. While some senior Marshall’s may travel and be employed by F1 the majority are local volunteers.

This is getting a USA 2005 balls up vibe about it. Circuit is open and the fans are being let in, domestic series are gonna run. If everything runs bar the F1 that is crazy, either the whole thing is off or it isn't?!

I really don't see how, with 3 and a bit hours to go until P1, they can now cancel it. If they did, they'd have put something out in plenty of time to allow people to change their plans..

Right? Oh yeah, this is the FIA we're talking about :p
