The RTX 2070 SUPER is faster by 51% for 1440p gaming. However, GTX 980 Ti is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from GTX 980 Ti to RTX 2070 SUPER is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 2070 SUPER .

980Ti vs 2070S is near and in some cases over double the performance at 1440p.

IMO it’s a worthwhile upgrade if you plan to push the settings. 2070S will run 1440p 120hz+ if you want it or futureproof 1440p/60hz for the next few years.

Not sure where that 33% came from... 480p results?

What about 980 ti > 2070s for 1440?

Cheers, do you think the next 3070s will be like 2080ti performance?
Depends on whether Nvidia are going full-on greed mode again, which I imagine will be determined by how worried they are about Navi. If they stick with their Turing strategy, I'd expect the 3070 to be more around 2080S levels, with the 3080 on par with or slightly ahead of the 2080 Ti. Then perhaps Super versions later bumping everything up a tier again. There's no doubt that they could do much more than that if they wanted to though, just like the Super cards could have been Turing's launch lineup.

It is likely to be. All though I doubt nvidia will be doing super cards next time around IMO.

2070S at 4k with decent overclock is more than capable. Obviously won’t be able to run everything on ultra but with adjustments it will be fine. Depends if you want the card now or if you are willing to wait.

If you can wait I would personally, but I wouldn’t expect the cards to be available for the next 4-5-6months with everything going on, stock levels to contend with etc.
