Which cheap GFX card for 4K Media center (no gaming)

I think last time this came up we decided the GT 1030 was the one to go for, as the 710 and 730 cards wouldn't cut it. Maybe an rx550 if you want to go AMD.

Depending on your processor, onboard graphics might be enough too. What do you have in the machine?

Geforce GT 710 supports 4k 30Hz through its HDMI port (1.4a). This should be sufficient for media center usage as movies run at 24fps.

Otherwise Geforce GT 1030 supports 4k 60Hz through its HDMI port (2.0b). This should really be considered if your media center usage involves a PC-esque desktop.

Both have fanless models available. GT 710 is roughly half the price of GT 1030.
