I've just heard the news eddie large as died. I'm not sure how many are old enough even to remember the comedy duo of little and large? They used to be on tv all the time back in the day as all round comedy entertainers. I think Large has a history of heart problems that took him out of comedy before his time. It sadly seems that when he's been in hospital for heart failure he's contracted the coronavirus and died :(

Very sad. RIP.

Sad to hear he didn't make it :(

I do remember quite a bit of 1980s and early 1990s light entertainment / comedy which when I was kid was amusing (see also Russ Abbott, Bobby Davro, Hale & Pace etc.)

An example of one gag was with Eddie as a crook stealing a car with Sid as a mechanic (stuck underneath the car) only to drive for miles to a port with Sid underneath...then Sid finally gets up steps back and falls into a river

They were great to watch as a kid as they were an old school, traditional style of funny guy and 'straight' man similar to Morcambe and Wise, The Two Ronnies and Cannon and Ball that pretty much died out totally by the late 90's. You still had Vic and Bob but they always way more alternative comedy.

Eddie Large still made me laugh today just in images of him as a jockey, etc, he had great physical presence for comedy. Surprised to see he was born in Scotland despite growing up in Manchester.

One thing that tickled me in a eulogy article was allegedly they only teamed up after Eddie Large heckled Sid Little in a working man's club, I can't imagine Sid Little being an electrifying solo performer so it was likely the best thing that ever happened to him.

Vaguely remember them. Rip. Actually pretty entertaining guy, better than stuff nowadays.

Opportunity knocks - there's another blast from the past. That's apparently where they got recognised.

Just goes to show that whether you're little or large, this virus is going to get you.

I grew up watching these, great tv and a couple of legends.

RIP.
