Hey wondered if anyone could shed some light on what might be happening.
Just built my first pc and thankfully everything seems to be fine bar some major issues with network.
I opted for a wireless usb adapter and I bought the Archer T2U Nano.
The adapter has a habit of just cutting out quite often sometimes like this morning it's been almost every 5 mins and it doesn't reconnect itself automatically ever.(have to manually connect everytime I turn pc on). Speed wise its not great either generally download speeds have been 3.5MBps on average. Even though we have super fast broadband with a booster.
Things I've done so far :
-Tried to give the usb and router most direct line of sight possible.
-Reinstalled drivers
- I went into the device manager to try and force it to use 5ghz butthat seemed worse.
-change power management settings so it doesn't turn it off automatically.
-logged into my router hub, didn't end up changing any settings as didn't want to mess anything up but checked connection and everything seemed fine.
The only thing that seems to help is rebooting the router. In that case I seem to get a decent period of time where it stays on and online games are actually playable , in some cases the whole day, but at some point the problem starts again. Unfortunately this is not ideal as partner is working from home and needs to be constantly connected (which she is managing fine btw) and its starting to drive her mad that I'm resetting the router
Thanks in advance
