Ah... you're saying that there needs to be a separate USB connection from your PC to the monitor to have the RGB pulsating effect for video/audio?

(I thought that was transmitted simply by the DP cable?)

No not second guessing I was actually wanting to say to Rock that he should be good with 1080s and the LG panel.

Are you kidding JF? I really cannot wait to receive all this stuff...

(Hope I get some decent Haribo with the gear!)

How much would an Inno3d 2080 sell for :D?

e: Incidentally, I want to say thanks to everyone in this thread for their advice.

Enjoy mate. All I will ever say we are all enthusiasts and if we can afford the stuff - why not go and buy it - life is way too short. I love gaming but atm not getting much done due to still working out in the field on NHS sites and then playing with the family when I get home.

looking to pick one of these up soon, can anyone confirm if you need the USB plugged in to get the RGB to match up to the video/audio being played?

Yep. Usb needs to be plugged in from PC to monitor for the software to work. Haven’t tried unplugging it once set up what you want it to do, but works pretty nicely and doesn’t seem to tax the system.
