The desk part is like that yeah, it did confuse me too, seems like it should either have been made with a smaller bore or provided with a sleeve insert, however, once the arm is in there with a mic you really don't notice and it's nice and solid so I'd totally forgotten about that minor point.
Thats good to know. I did wonder if once it has the weight of a mic on there it would behave differently.

I'll probably go with the through deskmount option anyway - its such a clean finish :p :D

Bluetooth FM transmitter for the car. I can now play flashdrives, sd cards, my 2nd gen ipod and phone through car stereo. 3 usbs and quick charge, plus hands free.

Genuine question, is there a reason you didn’t go Bluetooth and then through your phone? I assume anything on the devices you mention could be moved onto phone?

eh? you still need that Bluetooth FM transmitter to connect a phone to the car stereo if the car hasn't got bluetooth

Exactly. I just bought a 2007 Toyota Auris with a basic CD/radio and no built in bluetooth or aux. So the device will be quite useful. Also, my ipod is an old 2nd gen without bluetooth and the transmitter has a 3.5mm aux socket so I can plug it in. But yes I can and will eventually certainly transfer all music from that and my flash drives onto the phone.

My bad, I didn't realise you didn't even have Aux. Even for a 2007 car, that's quite bad/a surprise, no? So you BT to the transmitter, that broadcasts over FM to the radio?

As said, I didn't realise it didn't even have Aux. Otherwise, no, you would just BT to a receiver, plugged into Aux. No need for FM transmission.

No worries! Yes a bit disappointing. I did watch a video about my model of car and there's a 2009 version with built in aux and usb. Pity it's not in mine. Still, car only cost me £1,400 and it drives great. The transmitter is a fun little gadget to have.

I haven't set it up yet but yes you're right, I just find an empty FM station on the radio (the transmitter also has an auto scan feature.to find one), then tune the transmitter to the same FM wavelength, and then my phone via bluetooth, ipod on the aux, and flashdrive will all be received on that radio station. Reviews are very good, no hiss and good sound quality, built in EQ settings too.

Some new storage arrived today, first NVMe drive
[snips]
Well happy with the speeds as well.
Speedy!
What will it be used for? I was trying to justify a 2TB one but can't honestly think how I could use that speed (other than benchmarks and testing copying data to another M2 drive of similar speed)
Suppose it's similar to 1GB down/1GB up fibre, it's great to have but did I really need it, no. Was lightning at downloading porn though! :D
