What watch do you wear?

I'd steered clear from the 1980 vintage due to your budget. Getting a worthwhile watch of vintage within your budget or even close to it and with provenance proving it is wholly genuine, actually from 1980 and not in need of servicing etc was a big if not impossible ask.

That omega you linked to only approximates to 1980 too.
so what would you consider a min budget for a vintage watch that's worth actually buying?

Could anyone recommend a couple of reputable places where I could potentially sell my 2017 Omega Seamaster 300m?

I've had a quick look at watchfinder but I see they get mixed reviews.

No harm in asking Watchfinder for a quote. I get the impression there's a lot of stock with not may buyers (understandable given the current situation).

LOL And I thought I had a large watch collection. I Have around 14 I think.

That's actually a small portion of what i've collected over the last 45 years!!

This is around half of what I have but the rest are non runners, I used to repair them as a hobby, I scavenged parts from them!

I bought this Victorinox Swiss Army chrono yesterday, It's a nice automatic Valjoux 7750 powered chronograph, It has Sapphire front crystal, screwdown crown and pushers, It's actually 12 years old but works perfectly, The movement is very clean as it was serviced a few years ago..

I've had it on three different straps and don't like any of them so i'm going to get a black Bund strap from Eddie Platts when he starts selling again after the lockdown!, I'm only 20 minutes from him so i'll call on my way to work and pick one up ;)

I might just treat myself next week to this (with the red strap option). For £300 it's quite stunning.

The Coniston 'Steel' dial edition.

40mm diameter, 10.5mm depth
Miyota 8N33 manual mechanical movement - 21,600bph
Sapphire domed crystal with AR coating
BG-W9 lume
65g (with strap)
20mm lugs
10 ATM
