Aren't those being shutdown by rockstar? I know there's still an active community but it's quite unclear on the stand of banning players from accessing those servers are.
Pretty sure Take2 will not be touching the GTA FiveM RP community as it is that what has boosted the game in the last year. It is still in the top five of most-watched games on twitch for that reason.
They have shut down the GAT IV multiplayer and they have just borked RedM the Red Dead RP service.

Damn that's tough. I remember a few years ago that it wasn't advised to join a custom server. I guess rockstar had this coming with their game that's filled with microtransactions

I’ve just installed this again to help pass some time during isolation. I’ve put over 1,000 hours into this game when it first got released on PC.

To many mods to list, head over to gta5-mods.com though and have a field day.
Important ones I always get
NaturalVision
4k map
4k water
Better explosions
Real Blood
And all the car downloads.
Better to install everything with OpenIV which essentially separates game files so you can play online without the mods as well as offline with them all. Check out youtube for installation, loads of tutorials there for the big graphics mods.

I installed Redux recently (just redux, no reshade) and that alters game elements too such as gun sounds and explosions. NPCs will hold onto your car after you jack them just the same as GTA IV

If it's like how they handle Uplay games, it's basically a glorified RSC key and you won't have to bother with EGS at all once you've launched it once.

Can you do cash drops on this game. I have an account with 900,000,000 and my brother just got the game free and I would like to send him some cash but at 500 a pop it will take forever

Yeah, with MODs but bare in mind there is a risk of being banned.
