Firestick Replacement - what to get though

I still have a Gen1 firestick and it's starting to really tick me off...actually it's been doing it for a while now. I've been looking at:

Firestick Gen3
Fire TV Cube
Sidiwen Android 9 TV box

I'm leaning towards the Fire TV Cube as my history of the firestick means it doesn't have much of a life span. Mine has lasted 3 years and it's going to get thrown out if it continues to play up.

So, is the Cube really worth it? Are there other options that I should consider?

What do you use it for? Is it just for movie watching from prime, netflix etc?

Pretty much that. Spotify, Disney+, Prime (within the free trial

All of those apps will be on your TV if it's a smart TV.
I have an Nvidia Shield and a 4K fire stick but 9/10 end up using the TV app.

Yeah I know but I don't have a smart TV so looking for a replacement device.

Ah right,the 4K fire stick will do you it's super slick compared to a gen 1 stick.
I installed a custom launcher on mine to get rid of all the Prime junk.

Roku Firestick equivalent pretty good. Seems to respond faster?

Not a fan of Roku with a fire stick far more android apps can be installed.
Each to their own i suppose.

I really like the firestick design but the Gen1 was outdated very quickly. It struggles as you start installing multiple apps and I've had to hard reboot it more than once in order to get it too respond to commands.
Hopefully the Gen3 lasts longer.

Another vote for the 4k fire stick
It's faster than my smart tv apps

If you want Atmos sound with netflix get the cube not the stick. The stick cannot do enhanced atmos sound via netflix. So I vote cube as it gives far better sound.
