Only thing now, is rather that changing my case etc.. I ordered a RGB light strip for the case, just to bring a little colour that im not gonna lie, been missing a little bit

Will be coming tommorrow, will update tread with it when its installed.

Thanks Mini, yeah, its a nice case, a little RGB will spruce it up I think, I mean I have it on the peripherals, desk and wall, so why not a tiny, tiny bit again on the PC

Calling all Ikea Gerton owners! Did you treat the surface in any way? Has it held up well if you didn't?

Whilst I don't have this desk I have worked with beech a lot. I would use danish oil, sand it down to around 400 grit before oiling, apply a coat, let it dry, apply another. Give it a light sanding then apply a couple more.

For those using Ikea worktops , Has anyone cut one down? I'm looking at them as an option but the smallest is 10cm too long for where it needs to fit.

For all those with solid wood worktops, how often do you guys have to maintain them through methods such as oiling or varnishing?

Also have you added additonal underside support where you don't have drawers?

750mm at least for me personally, but I use my desk for paperwork as well as computer work. Even if I didn't, I'd find 600mm too shallow.
