Just adding my 2p here:

http://driverpacks.net/

Having been asked to sort a 7+ year old laptop out, I found that there were a bunch of devices with no drivers - nowt on Windows Update, and oddly, nothing on the manufacturer's site either; so I tried a few links on the first page - only to find old site full of spam or tolls that need to be purchase.

Driver updating software is a bit of a hit and miss. Most times they find the latest drivers and everything works as it should. Rarely though, they can mess up.

Is WPD still a thing for Windows 10 to clean up unwanted privacy settings etc? If so, is it safe and what's the website for it please? Surprised I couldn't find this on the first page.

I would advise removing Avira from the recommended links.
After the company was bought by another, the app (which i have been using since the days of AntiVirXP) received an update that shoved bloatware down user's throats. We are talking about programs that run at random without permission and with no way to disable them, that has been proven by some long-time users to cause some issues in terms of registry keys going missing, VPN activating while a active connection exists, scans that slow down systems (yes... in 2020), etc.

More details here:
