I currently run a LaCie 5Big Network 2 which had five 1TB drives in running Raid 6 just to protect the data if one or more drives happened to fail.
I ran out of space on it so decided to buy five 4TB Ironwolf drives, which i hot swapped so I didn't loose any data. My issue now is that although it registers all five 4TB hard drives the overall capacity hasn't changed. I've looked in the settings, searched google to no avail. All I've found is that in order to utilise the full capacity i need to rebuild the raid, which in turn means i'd loose all data on it.
I'm not really sure where to go from here. I'm assuming all the data is still stored on the 1TB hard drives but i've got no way of running all five to then copy over to the fresh array.
Does anyone have any suggetions?
