A little gym canopy should cover it right? Even if it rusts, will it affect performance?

I'm setting up the same and there are a few things I'm considering:
- if the rack rusts, and it likely will outdoors, how long will it remain structurally safe? Depends how much load you put through it and whether you'll replace it eventually. I'm not even sure what the load rating of mine is. It held at 200kg.
- bumper plates may rust depending on type and storage. Mine I currently have on a raised wooden platform with a liner underneath and a trap over the top. I've oiled the collars - if those rust it could make it more difficult getting them on and off the bar.
- the bar is probably most prone to rusting.

Currently my bar, squat rack and bench are stored in my summer house and come out for each workout. I'm considering a gazebo for the winter on the patio space where I workout. I'm not only thinking of the equipment - it rains a lot in the winter - I don't mind the cold, but I wont workout in the rain or on a wet surface due to it being slippery.

Longer term I have a space where I will build an air conned outbuilding, but that will have to wait until next spring.

Bulldog do galvanised variants, but the lead time is longer.

What exactly is westside spacing?
Does the 90cm deep version cost extra? It's like £480 normally, right?
Is the 90cm deep version just the extension kit added on?
I will likely need the J hooks (£50/80), landmine attachment (£80) and the dip handles (£90). Have you tried either? Hoping the dips don't cause wobble, or even tipping lol

Will the M3 rust as a backyard gym? Will need to think the same about their £200 lat pulldown machine

Wet side spacing is 1 inch between holes in the bench press area, allowing perfect placement of spotter bars.
90cm deep version is extra, think mine was £430 as mentioned.
Extension kit is 60cm deep, and approx £230
The J Hooks that come with it are fine, I did have my eyes on the upgraded ones at £70, but I am very happy with the ones that came with it.
I have not tried the dip handles that come with it, but I imagine it will be solid. Looks to be a clone of the Rogue "Matador" along with the rest of the rack lol.

Don't know about rust

Canopy is a real good idea. I was thinking about something like this, but maybe a larger 4x3m one, as I could have it attached to the side of my garage, and use all 3 side panels to completely cover it when not in use.

Even Bulldog Gear have suspended new orders

It's been extremely busy here at Bulldog HQ, so we've TEMPORARILY suspended NEW orders for some of our UK manufactured products that are made in-house, in order to catch up on our existing orders.

Products included:

- All Squat Racks / Power Racks

- Some Specialist Rigs

- Pull-Up Bars

- Storage Systems

Glad I got in when I did.

In for pics of new Gazebo gym blown away in the strong winds :p

I was watching mattdoesfitness latest video yesterday, looks like Bulldog gear are coming in to do his home gym, the renders look awesome. Not jealous..

I think he has the same squat stands as @CaptainRAVE , looked solid for his 220 squat.

Haha. Hopefully not. Two sides will be on the edge of the patio, so I will put 4 corkscrew anchors down into the ground (edit: I've ended up placing 3 per leg). The front on the patio with have 25kg weights on each leg. I'll likely stack my weight plates on the corner legs too - I'm sure the thing will fall apart before 1/4 tonne lifts up. I don't have another solution for the time being.

I love Bulldog gear. I'd happily have a gym done by them. Its real quality stuff.

Oh, thats good to know. It seems pretty sturdy so far. I've had 180kg on there and it looks OK.

Picssssss.

Should be arriving in the next couple of days. Will do so when it is setup.

What did you order?
I have been waiting for a bench for near 6 weeks now loool. It was a pre-order item though

One of their squat racks and then a few weeks later the safety bars. Both arrived within the stated time. The rack was missing some nuts and washers, but I was able to get some of those separately.

I was looking at the Ironmaster super bench, but it looks like it may be a little on the high side. The pro fixes this by being lower but it's out of stock.

I ordered a Bulldog Gear MLSR 3 in Galvanised on 1st June, email says it should be being delivered tomorrow so it was just about within the 4-6 weeks lead time for galvanised they quoted at the time. As with you I'm glad I ordered when I did. It's been a long wait but I'm excited to get it setup finally!

Well the gazebo is up. Twice, because the wife wanted it moved over a ft. Tricky job having never put one up before (and all on my own) and also having to sort multiple side walls, anchors etc. Every corner will have the 12kg gazebo weight plates with the rest of my 200kg weight plates testing against them. The side on the edge of the patio (and against the prevailing wind) has additional anchors with four cam tightening belts and corkscrew 45cm anchors into the ground. The frame will fail before it flies away. It’s a 60mm wide hex frame, so it’s strong as far as gazebos go. It was darn heavy setting it up.

Going to add to my 4 free weight mats with another 8 to cover the floor. That way if water does run under the walls it can stay under the mats.

Perfect no, but it means these constant showers won’t get in the way of my training and it’ll tide me over until I can afford a new building.

I also have some rechargeable led hanging light bulbs for when it gets dark after work.

Being 2x3m it’s obviously a tight fit with an Olympic bar, but it just about works. I’ll try to take pictures.

Cool. Just in time.
