Advice on new entry to mid range gaming PC.

Hello. Last time I specced a gaming PC was probably 2008 so I'm somewhat out of touch.

I always went AMD\Radeon in the past - is that still the best in terms of bang for buck?

Basically this is for my eldest who plays the likes of COD, Battlefield and GTA V online. I'd like it to be able to shift the first two at 1080p or higher without having to faff with settings. Budget sub £1000.

Any recommendations are very welcome.
