Subwoofer trigger input?

Should be getting a new 2020 Denon AVR soon, which has a 12v trigger output.

My SVS PC-2000 subwoofer has a "3-12V trigger with 1/8” (3.5 mm) TRS mini-jack input."

Am I correct that the cable to connect these is a simple 3.5mm headphone jack? And that cable sends a signal to turn the subwoofer on?

Why do you need sub trigger cable,? When you watch a movie it'll bring it out of standby. Unless that defeats the auto on/off mode. But I've found svs to be about 10 minutes, which is fine. Yamaha and Wharfedale seem pretty short like 1-2 minutes
