So if it's legit, they're sticking with 3080Ti and not 3090 as speculated? Or are they going to be two separate cards?
I recon as some people have stopped seeing the Titan as a gamer card conveniently due to the silly price, they may sell the 3080 as a 3080Ti, then double dip later to catch the “got to have the best gamer card” crowd with a 3090 and people will sell their 3080Ti taking a loss to buy a 3090.

Works nicely for nvidia as if they release the 3080Ti for say £700-£800 people will praise them. Then later the 3090 drops for £1000+ and then they realise they have been had with a marketing name change.

Just some fun speculation on my part anyway, all within the realms of possibility with Nvidia :p:D

Depends on the performance at that pricing. People wouldn't praise 3080ti if it was too close to the 2080ti. Similarly if a 3090 is only 5% better than a 3080ti for a few hundred quid difference, a lot of folks wouldn't be interested. Except for those few who always want to be on the fastest card.

As some folks have said before on the thread, naming doesn't mean jack. It's all about performance at that price point. If a 3080 performs 30% better than a 2080, but costs 25% more, it's not really progress is it.

Adding to the speculation fun: I'd like to see a 980ti performance card at 200 quid. It's long since overdue and technically we already had it when 2nd hand 980ti were selling for that price when Pascal launched.

Yeah, anything goes really (apart from value for money!).
+1

Current high end 2080TI's are £1500, 3080TI's will start at that, at least.
Muh DLSS, Muh super RTX.
Maybe for the 3090 :p

I think it is safe to say when the performance is not specified, 40-50% bump in performance is expected. What would the point of a 3080Ti that was 10-20% faster than a 2080Ti be? Would be a laughingstock.

A lot of people seem to assume that Nvidia is happy with the sales/money they got out of their overpriced cards last time around.

It's not like they would come right out and say they screwed up and didn't make as much money as they had hoped.

Consider how Intel handled Zen 2. Did they lower prices on their existing products?

No. Of course not. They want to be seen as the premium brand so they wont cut any prices....But they sure as hell made the very next run of CPU'S a LOT cheaper than the ones they refused to discount. Lol
(their respons to Zen2 thread ripper)

Nvidia may be putting on the same kind of game-face with Turing. We'll see what happens with the 30xx series.

Possibly legit but it looks more of a photoshop job or an early look at a product that's not yet finished.
