Some of those screenshots make me think what City of Heroes would look like if made today heh.

I'm not in love with the slightly cramped scale roads that feel a bit angular though - something doesn't feel organic about them and reminds me of the city streets in older video games where they had to compromise on geometry complexity.

My 970 4690K 1333mhz ddr3 1080P, envies you.

I'm definitely going to start upgrading more often, 5-6 years has hit me hard.

All of my upgrades have been at excellent prices to be fair... Went from crossfire R9 270's (only had crossfire because I picked up a 2nd card brand new for under £100, at the time was an awesome deal), sold those for ~£130 and bought a R9 390X brand new for just under £200 a couple months after the RX580 released so they were probably clearing inventory. Beast of a card at that time for that money! Sold that for £120 after buying the Vega 56 for ~£260 a couple months before the 5700/5700XT launch when retailers were clearing inventory.

I don't think 5700XT is really worth the upgrade at the current prices, but we'll see when they get cheaper :)

I71070k & 1080ti @ 1080p hoping this will cut the mustard?
Considering the game has to run on a base xbox one from 2013, easily.
We often forget this is a current gen game whose development started over a decade ago.
For reference, the reveal footage in 2018 was running 4k30 off a 1080ti. It will surely be more optimized by now, at least for 1440p60.

Ray-Traced Diffuse Illumination: The Arasaka lettering and the red holo gang (Road Closed) bathe the surroundings in soft, diffuse light. The same applies to the rear and even the small front light on the vehicle.
Ray-Traced Reflections: Lettering and lighting are not only reflected in the pool (which could also be screen space reflections), but are diffusely reflected by walls and asphalt. The reflections even seem to take the surface condition into account.

Why do these sci-fi/futuristic/cyberpunk games/movies/novels etc always have a big Japanese influence?

In the 80s when Cyberpunk genre was emerging, Japan was seen as a country of the future with all its technological advancements. All the best TVs, hifis, electronics stuff came from there. Plus the kanji looks great in neon. :p
