I am happy to report that not only does it fit, but according to GPU-Z its brought my idle CPU temp down from around 45 degrees to 38 degrees - oh and its VERY quiet - win win!

Sorry to bring this back up, I’ve just purchased the Arctic Freezer esports 34 cooler for my Ryzen 3600 and MSI B450 Tomahawk Max MB. I’m having a hard time getting the screws from the backplate to come through enough to get any purchase to screw the cooler to the cpu.

Theres a few threads saying the backplate that comes with the motherboard is not compatible and needs updating? Anyone have any idea what I can try? Thanks!

Yup exactly but where they can just pop the thumb screws and tighten up. On mine they are barely protruding.

So I’ve been able to get three screws in. The last one is not even close. Is it worth leaving it at that or sending it back and trying a different cooler?

Does the standoffs have equal thread length on each side ?

I'm sure that if it was diffrent it would have shown in the video but I thought I would ask.

Yeah I’ve tried each way but some of them only fit one way.

I think I’ll just return and try a different one. Hopefully get the stock cooler back on without issue.

In this thread a guy has the same problem as you and he contacted arctic and they sent him longer thread standoff.

If you don't want to do that get something else.

Ah yes that’s the thread I saw. I’ve put the original cooler back in and will look at alternatives. My CPU is currently 60degrees at idle so need something better.

Hello, I think when i originally placed the CPU the cooler wasn't seated well. I've changed to a Corsair H60 and things look better now.
