Hi

Looking for a new 27" monitor mainly for work but also the odd bit of gaming. Budget is around £300.

Had a look at the Asus BE27AQLB and also the Dell P2719H. Anyone use one of these or can recommend an alternative?

Cheers

I've just realised that the Asus is 2560x1440 resolution and the Dell is 1920x1080. I've currently got an old 22" Samsung monitor I'm upgrading from which runs at 1920x1080. Would I be better with a 27" monitor that runs 2560x1440 now?

Cheers

I wouldn’t be buying a 4K 60Hz panel for gaming lol

@bigdunc what’s your PC specs? (Mainly CPU/GPU) if powerful enough then I’d go 1440p on 27” display.

Something like these is around your budget... might have to shop around if no stock.

Or new Dell S2721DGF https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/new-dell-ips-s2721dgf-165hz-gaming-monitor.18892819/

I don't do much Pc gaming these days so I guess response times and refresh rates won't really matter but specs are i7-5820K @ 4.2GHz, 16GB, 250GB SSD, Seagate 2TB, GTX 980. It's mainly office related stuff I'll be using it for like internet, emails, remote desktop etc

So I think I've now narrowed it down between the ASUS VG279Q and the ASUS VG27VQ

https://www.asus.com/uk/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/VG279Q/?SearchKey=VG279Q/

https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/TUF-GAMING-VG27VQ/

They are basically the same from what I can see except the ASUS VG279Q has an IPS panel and is a flat screen and the ASUS VG27VQ is a curved screen and uses a VA panel

Are there any negatives to a 27" curved screen @ 1080P which will mainly be used for office work and maybe the odd game every now and then?
