How and when did the cricket authorities become aware that Jofra Archer had broken the bubble rules by visiting his family? Did he make a confession or was he reported?

If he did visit on the day he left Southampton, presumably Sunday or Monday it took a while for the knowledge of the event to surface.

God Jimmy Anderson is so slow these days. Plodding away at 81mph.

The fact that he's still our frontline test bowler speaks to the lack of fast bowling talent we're generating in this country.

Start blooding the 20 year old 90 mph speed demons like Jofra.

He might have only taken 5 wickets, but he bowled 64 overs at 2.34 economy.

Given that he always bowls at the openers, that's pretty impressive. He builds pressure, takes some wickets, and forces batsmen to take risks at the other end.

So long as he can continue to bowl 20-30 overs a match at that economy, he'll have a place in the side.

I still see him as more of a T20 batsman tbh

whatever happened to Cook - has he retired?

You're not wrong, modern test cricket occasionally needs a T20 approach, but not always, and he doesn't seem to have any other mode. Spectacular when it comes off though.

Cook retired from International cricket. Still plays County cricket though.

They will likely bring back Crawley in at 3 and everyone drops down one. As for the bowlers right now Woakes and Broad are locks, then you've got got Wood, Archer, Anderson, Robinson, Curran and Bess/Leach fighting for spots.

Still don't think Buttler should be in the side; watched Foakes at Surrey for the last 5 years and he's a phenomenal gloveman

What's his speed got to do with anything? He's still an exceptional new ball bowler.

Don't get me wrong, he's obviously at the tail end of his career and developing talent is important, but the man still gets the job done.
