Craig in Casino Royale is a tough act to beat, and my favourite movies to watch are the 'fluffier' Roger Moore movies (Live and Let Die in particular, but Jane Seymour is a somewhat distracting factor). But I was never going to vote anything other than Connery.

I'm over 50 though, and the Dalton/Brosnan era passed me by completely; neither of them made the needle on my Bondometer move off 'Imposter'.

Well Barry already has a vote...I would assume they're just included to be a complete list.

Niven was a parody bond and also on the list...loved the Casino Royale spoof growing up. Also took me ages to take the first Craig movie seriously in name as it just reminded me of the spoof.

I've only ever seen the ending of that version of CR and it looked bonkers. I quickly got the idea it was a farcical film and have given it a wide berth ever since.

Brosnan was the best Bond, with the worst scripts IMO. After Goldeneye they were so hit and miss, and Die Another Day is a ******* travesty but there were still flickers of an amazing Bond there.

He did some great little things like when he nonchalantly reacts to a bullet whizzing near his head whilst setting a bomb in the control room at the end of Goldeneye: https://youtu.be/Te9ioCZOOa0?t=83

Or the look of anger on his face when he shoots the captain of the stealth boat.

Could have quite easily gone with Sir Roger, he'll always be my favourite. Brosnan had such immense stature though, when facing up his foes there was real conviction. Perhaps DC had a little of that, but non of the sophistication to go with.

I like the Connery, although You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever are a bit silly the rest feel like relatively grounded spy movies with a lot of charm. He mixes the physical, intelligence and wit of the the film character really well. I like Roger Moore but some of his films were a bit crap but he played a very of it's time super spy. Dalton's films were good but just too early audiences weren't ready for that yet. Brosnan had loads of charm easily in the Moore and Connery category but only Goldeneye was good film the rest were Moore levels of ridiculous. Daniel Criag was refreshing in Casino Royale but since then there has been little James Bond about his portrayal it's a more Bourne than Bond, no charm no wit, dour and frankly Bourne does Bourne better. Mission Impossible seeems more Bond like than DC/Mendes Bond.

Connery numero uno, with honourable mentions for Moore and Brosnan, Daniel Craig head and shulders above the stragglers but still a long way from the front.

The older Bonds for me hands down, Connery and Moore head and shoulders above modern day Bond actors. I also must be one of very few that actually hates Daniel Craig, I've always thought he was a terrible Bond. Mind you in saying that, Bond films the last 15 to 20 years or so starting with Die Another Day have been absolute pony so that's not helped DC.

Connery then Moore and then Brosnan. I'm not a fan of the new direction, it's almost like the Bourne trilogy came out and the Bond writers just decided to copy it wholesale.

In terms of film though, Goldeneye wins hands down, it's by far and away the best one.

Voted Connery. Not for the films, some of which are hilariously bad on re-watch. But Connery's Bond (character) really has it all.

The Brosnan films were much better films.

Funnily enough I don't rate the Craig films much, but he's a fairly good Bond. The latest one in particular was just shocking. Awful.

The Moore films I felt had too much forced "humour" and quips.

Craig and Brosnan were somewhat one trick ponies - Goldeneye is arguably the best Bond film of all and casino royale also incredibly good but the other films they starred in were average at best.
All of Daltons were very good.
