I just opted for older tech, and M.2 Crucial MX500 (SATA). Has dram and much better durability than the new (cheaper) chips, even if it does cost a little speed in burst transfers.

Not sure if this is necroposting, if it is, I apologise, but it would save me creating another.

I bought the 1TB Gen4 nvme model (black and baige sticker), worked fine until last week, so i have to replace it, might just get one of the same again, plus i need to get a second backup hd.

I'm after a 500GB M2 4.0 druve and a ~2TB 3.0 (or maybe 2.5" SATA). Reliability is important as I'd expect them to last well over 5 yes. What are the most reliable without spending silly money?

I've had my 1tb sabrent rocket gen 4 for 3 1/2 months now, using it as my only drive and its been great so far.

I've got a 1TB Sabrent as my main OS drive and it's exceeded my expectations. Zero issues, and the endurance is jaw dropping good.

Maybe a batch or even where they were stored? who knows but others seem to get on well with them.
