Not where I'd like to be
Assuming the 14th is correct for the NDA lifting on the FE versions of the cards, I'm looking forward to next Monday though I hope it doesn't come round too quickly as I'm on holiday this week, and next Monday, so it's back to work on Tuesday. I do have Thursday off every week so that's one obstacle out of the way to having a, albeit slim, chance of picking a 3080 up on launch day.

Haven't done early adopting in years so quite looking forward to this and fully accept that I've lost **** loads off my January 2020 purchased 2070 Super. Probably just keep it as a back up.

Pretty glad im not considering the 3090. This is just stupid.

The 3090 isn't big, it's just that the other two are...small.

Great news for potential buyers who need a water block who buy the Founders edition only!!!

Bear in mind, the Founders edition is NOT reference design! It's a custom design for the founders cooling system, I feel like if people don't get this, there's gonna be a lot of disappointed water coolers getting the incorrect blocks, think this is the first time that the founders has not been the reference?

Indeed it is the first time the founders isnt reference.

Also notice the waterblock is the same for both the 3080 and the 3090 which means the only difference in that picture between the size of the 3090 and the 3080 is the cooler! both cards are the same size under neath.

Once i have a 3090 with a waterblock on its actually going to be smaller compared to my 2080ti now.

Yeah was thinking the same, they may look massive there but infact they'll be tiny PCB's and waterblocks... which is mad when you look at the size of them there. For me, they're be way smaller than my current 5700XT haha

At least we will get to see how the 3000 series truly performs and then it will be a waiting game to see which AIB is best.

I want to see how much heat and thermal throttling is going on. The coolers on both the FE and AIB are just huge!

Looking at how much wattage the 3080 uses compared to the 3090 and just how much bigger the 3090 coolers are, i really do think the 3090 is going to overclock better

This...keen to see if core speeds are conservative on the spec sheets

Was looking back at the May rumours and they were almost 100% correct on the things we know so far and the performance gain of between 40% and 100% seems like it might be right as well.

But the rumours back in May was the 3080 would all boost to 2250 and might even boost to 2500. That seems to gone out of the window. Maybe that is a power/heat thing?

Imagine how much more quicker it would have been if the 3080 had managed to boost to 2500?

Even the 20 series looked conservative on official specs compared to what followed.

A few of the 30 series rumours were way out, core count for one!

What's everyone's buy order? Going for AIB or FE first? If you're going for AIB what are your top 3 you think you'll go for?

So if I need another HDMI for 4k60 (not HDMI 2.1) it would not be as simple as just using a DP > HDMI cable? Even if the new card has DP++ ??

Would I need an active adapter such as the Club3D if I want to use it for HDMI 2.0 4k 60 ?

Ah ok. And this one:

I don't speak a lot of Chinese but I think from the subs it says 36% over the 2080ti in Firestrike Ultra and 38% in Timespy extreme.

Think the Firestrike score was 11049. My best is 9350ish on my 2080ti/3800x. I think they're on a 10900k so I would say that score is not as far ahead as I might have expected.

Still leaning towards zotac 3080. What puts me off though is not seeing reviews of the cooler before taking the plunge.

If the FE reviews on 14th show it runs cool enough to boost well, I may go that way instead.

The idiot in me still wants that ridiculously large 3090 FE, even though it is complete overkill and horrible value over the 3080...

Leaning more and more towards FE, mostly as I just prefer how it looks and I can't justify the extra cost for plastic laser shows. And to completely contradict myself, I thought was settled on the 3080, I'm now leaning more towards 3090, as I just want to buy once. See how we get on when real info starts coming out though.
