I purchased the 3090 Gaming X Trio and the temps I'm getting are far higher than the benchmarks I've read or what I've read other people are getting with their cards. At full tilt on the stock fan profile the card hits in excess of 85c. I have tried different fan curves with MSI afterburner but this only lowered the temperatures to around 81-83c.
The case I'm using is Thermaltake the tower 900 and its probably not the best case for air flow however whilst I'm waiting for a block to be in stock I'm stuck to using this on air so I have removed all the glass panels from the case and placed two extra fans on the GPU side of the case for more airflow. This hasn't made any difference to the temperatures. In the same setup with all the glass panels on and just the two 140mm fans blowing air out of the case I had an Asus 1080ti Strix oc and this never reached higher than 74c in the same setup on air.
Even on the low temperature bios I'm still getting the same high temps. Anyone else have a similar issue with this card? I've even reapplied the thermal paste thinking the stock paste from the factory was dud and this made no difference.
