I (surprisingly) received my Nitro+ OC today. Have checked the end of it where the backplate is and mine looks to be pretty solid. No gap that I can see. Did yours come with a cover over the PCI connector? My box was sealed but I thought the PCI connector would have a plastic protector over it. The ports do have plastic covers on them.

Thanks for checking. If the card is sat on its back plate there is no gap but you you pick it up from around the shroud you feel the movement (which is when I noticed it when I was moving to have a good look at it). When mine is installed you can see the gap open as the weight of the fans and cowling pull on it. Do you have this gap when it's installed in your system?
I checked the screws in mine and they are tight so it might be that they crossed threaded both of mine or I just got a Friday afternoon card . I haven't heard anything from.the company yet about replacement or compensation for a not so premium nitro +.

I didn't get a cover for the PCIE connector either just the blue covers for the outputs like yours.
I ahve noticed it does need a support on the rear of the card as it does droop a bit near the end. Shame they didn't supply one like they did with the Vega64 I had.

I had a good tug on mine to see if there was any movement and it was solid, so sounds like yours has an issue.

How are thermals?

Also no PCIE cover on mine either, i also have a spare Vega 64 Sapphire gpu support but i dont think youll be able to fit it without issues with fan clearance.

Mine seems to be ok for gpu sag, certainly nothing compared to that 3080 Aorus Master it replaced.

Hey guys. Anyone with the nitro+ 6800 XT able to use Trixx boost? Everytime I apply it, screen flashes and I then just get Trixxboostapply stopped working. Any ideas?

I’ve got the Nitro + 6800xt as well and this happened at first- I then updated the Adrenalin software to optional/beta from AMD which sorted it.

Firstly, i have mainly used AMD for many years, 6950, 7870, 290 (4 diff ones), Vega 64, 1070, 5700XT, 3080 and now 6800XT. I prefer their driver suite on AMD cards, i have a Freesync monitor, even though it will work with Gsync, i wanted to see what all the fuss with Raytracing was about so i got the 3080, but i am massively unimpressed by it. So back to AMD i go, as the performance in non Raytracing is almost identical i havent really lost anything :)

As for your 2nd question, no, they are both custom partner models, performancewise they are identical, the only difference between the 2 models is the SE version has clear RGB Fans and it has a USBC port on the card, thats it, nothing else.

can I ask if you/anyone with a nitro + noticed very slight play in the display port cable when it’s plugged into display port at the back of gpu?

ive only noticed it in one port but it’s really minimal and otherwise the cable plug is tight in the display port hole.

Yeah if you gave it a tug and nothing then mine does have an issue as you don't need to put much pressure on for it to move and create a big gap. Thanks for that as it gives me something to go on with the company. Thermals (as i believe anyway) are good I get mid 60c GPU with high 80's hotspot on 100% usage at 2540Mhz and 2150mhz Memory with a slightly adjusted fan curve. Most games the fans don't even come on and it sits in the low 50's.

After a couple of days I noticed mine was having a bit of a droop (my gap issue might not be helping) so I got a Deepcool support cheap that hides the power cables and holds it up nicely. I am not sure if I have a good chip or not as 2540Mhz is stable in Timespy but 2630Mhz stable in most games (but crashes in Timespy at 2630) but have seen lots getting mid to high 2600Mhz.

The main Issue I have running wise is low GPU usage in VR, rarely goes over 50% even when dropping to 75 ish FPS (should be 90 FPS locked). But this must be driver issues as others are having something similar on the AMD forums. Also in games it won't go above 120FPS with Vsync, FRTC etc turned off but fine in benchmarks oddly. Typical early AMD drivers I suppose or that my 2700X is holding it back.

Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.12.2 - thats the version i have currently installed. Same issue. Hmmm.

ive got 20:12:1 released on 4/12/20- have you got a more uptodate release? The software suite saying there are no further updates?

Back to my original question anyone experiencing very slight play in the Display port plug when connected to GPU?

Seems like it. Found on the AMD website. Ill try your version.

I also have no play on my display port plug when connected.

I played a bit of Cyberpunk today and saw that my 6800XT was getting up to 86c! Well, one of the two temperatures that Afterburner can monitor. And this is with the amps at 1060 instead of 1150!

But in Escape from Tarkov or whatever it is called I saw over 10GB of VRAM usage at 1440P which seems nuts! Not sure I'm brave enough to contribute that to the VRAM thread

Threes no real way to say if that's being used or cached because it's there, that's the problem with vram usage its hard to tell exactly what it's doing. On a card with less vram it might well use less for caching as there's less there.

Looks like there is a new driver just for 6800XT & 6900 cards which is the .2 drive.

20.12.1 is the most recent for base 6800.

I also had display port issues, I DDU'd all drivers and started again from fresh which fixed it.

Still rubbish performance in Warzone, great everywhere else. My mates 5700xt out performs it :p
