Yeah guys who WC 3090's have balls of steel!
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
Only dismantle what you can afford in my opinion. I wouldn't even dismantle a £200 GPU because if it fails, that's £200 lost. I'd dismantle a £50 GPU and play around with it because I could afford to loose £50. I spend that on a night out.
Top man, thanks
Thanks for the suggestions guys, and also the condolences!
Its on eBay now. There isn't anyone around where I live (North Devon) that I know who could attempt to fix it.
I'm a very impatient individual and blindly thought I could fix it myself. As some have said, expensive lesson learnt!
Jesus Christ £1400+ down the crapper just like that......
Why did you try to reattach them with a MIG welder?
You mean using a TIG welder instead?this was my first thought too lol.
That’s a very upsetting picture, kudos for your attitude.
it’s hard to tell exactly what’s happened under that mess, but if it isn’t as bad as it looks it’s not out the realm of possibility that someone handy with repairing traces and a slightly more.... delicate... soldering ability may be able to rescue it.

OP seemed awfully calm about it.
Really 0_o
Soooo... I have the diagnostic, sadly it is not good
"It's unlikely that that's repairable. He's most likely shorted a power rail, which means that not only are the regulators fried, but also power rail tracks which could be on internal layers are also burnt through. The card is well and truly fried."
It seems that is probably botched for good.
