2080ti to 3090. Can now use 120hz mode on my tv. Couldn't if I didn't. Therefore it's upto a 100% improvement in gsync for me and therefore I don't think I can put a price on that as I was buying for HDMI 2.1 not for extra performance.

Precisely this for me. 2080ti = stuck on 60hz, 3090 = 120hz. Therefore it's a massive improvement.
regardless of refresh rate, the framerate is also 40-70% higher depending on the game so thats nice

2080 with a 5 month gap to a Sapphire Nitro +OC 6800. Rather pleased with the card although I'm still testing it. Can't say I notice a big difference but that's probably more down to the long gap between having a GPU. FPS is certainly higher though.

1080 to 3090. Then from a 1440p to a 4k monitor .
Then 6700k to a 10850k.
All hinged on getting the 3090, so if that had failed none of the above would have happened.
It's done now so should be good for a fair few years.

2080S to 3080. I added a card rather than replaced. The 3080 can run cyberpunk silky smooth with DLSS and RT that left the 2080S a stuttering mess. And with two GPUs for rendering, upscaling and video editing, I can do more things at the same time. Got the 3080 just before prices really got ridiculous.

Also Peen points. I can go in public again.

I went from 2070S to 3080, Ryzen 3600 to 5900 and got some 8 pack ram. I got it all at msrp and it feels like a supercomputer now and I'm stoked.

SLI 1070's to a 1080ti, the 1070's were faster in some SLI supporting titles, by a surprising margin, but love the 1080ti, especially given I paid £300. :)

given there hasnt been any SLI supported games since the last tomb raider, SLI is a total waste anyway

2080ti strix to 3090fe. Can now play at 4k vs 1440 with same settings. No more reprojection in vr and hobby level 3d rendering is noticeably faster. I bought the 2080ti cheap just after the 30 series none launch and I could get my money back on it if I choose to sell it rather than put it in the living room pc. The 3090 is the card I hoped the 2080ti would be.

Aorus 1080ti extreme to 3090 Founders Edition. I was initially looking for the 3080 but they were/are very elusive.
I just prefer the Founders Edition cards so with that in mind and future proofing, it had to be the 3090. I'm not one to upgrade graphics cards every generation so this will be in my system for a while to come 'touch wood'
I'm very pleased with it so far.

EVGA 1080Ti Black to 3080 FE.

The improvement for $700 was "acceptable". In my favorite sim with my Reverb G1, I was able to turn up a few settings:
No AA to low MSAA
Environment map from low to medium
Car detail from high to ultra
Detailed shadows from off to low.

All other settings had to remain medium-low.

Nowhere near "ultra everything" but still a noticeable visual improvement.

The plan is:
R9 390 8GB > RTX 3070 8GB. Yeah boiii.
But only if I can get one for £500 or less

I get about 20 FPS at 4K at the moment, so any Ampere / RDNA 2 GPU would be a large improvement.

Went from a Vega64 to a RX6800 and really pleased with the resulting incereases.
AC Valhalla was 50fps @1440, 144hz on high settings now 90fps with everything on ultra it's incredible :D;)

I'm still on a 1080ti and using 120hz on my tv? What am i missing out on exactly? It's certainly running at 120hz 4k
