Hi,

I have a 2015 Audi A5 S line with 20”wheels and spacers, I’m currently with axa insurance for the year is £1009 (24 almost with 2 years no claims,)

any other insurance company that allows mods that I’ve spoke to such as Adrian flux and checked compare the market have been around £5000 insurance for the year which is a joke, does anyone know any insurance companies that allow spacers as a mod as axa does not that could also maybe try match that price? I don’t mind paying slightly more.

thanks

Adrian Flux for me.

I tried Greenlight but was initially told they "don't insure modified vehicles" (given they market themselves as a modified specialist). Pulled them about it and changed to "car's market value is too low".

Evidence to me that they're a nightmare to deal with imo.

Greenlight engaged me in conversation asking about what mods I wanted to do to my £2,000 MX5, and currently insure my modified £3,000 Audi TT. Didn’t seem bothered by mods or low value.

Great bunch of people from my experience.

I'm with Chris Knott, they happily covered my modifications. Also generally very helpful at renewal, usually happy to price match others, and I've never had trouble getting through to speak to them.

Some of the specialists like Adrian Flux are a bit hit and miss - good for some stuff, crazy priced for other stuff - probably because they don't actually want to deal with it and hope a crazy price will put people off (or they understand the implications of some of these mods better than non-specialist :s).

Maybe I just got the office idiot then. Either way I'm now with Adrian Flux on a policy that allows me to cosmetically modify the car as much as I want with no penalty or admin fees & no penalty or admin fees for performance modifications so long as their total power increase is less than 30% of the factory figures.

I used Greenlight. They're good on the phone and understand what you're talking about. Got a remap and added 80hp and there was no extra cost.

Are you not from Ireland OP?

If so I believe insurance is totally different kettle of fish over there.
Hi if it’s me your asking yes Northern Ireland but it’s not that different from what I can tell online my insurance has been fairly cheap since I have started driving it’s always been under £1400 (started driving at 22)
