Nvidia has promised that its new lineup of cryptocurrency mining GPUs, called CMP for short, won't impact the supply of GeForce graphics cards for PC gamers.

That's because these cards are reportedly using GPUs that don't fit the specifications for the company's GeForce graphics cards and thus were otherwise not going to find much use in the existing lineup, the company says.

Good news at last for gamers!

It's amazing that people have such short memories :p This was tried last time and it failed miserably. Miners don't want cards they can't re-sell - when they're 95% knackered - to some poor sod at as close to the full retail RRP as possible.

Because miners are lovely people.

Some sort of wear/mileage chip would be a good thing to implement on GPU's. I doubt the big two are interested in making that a reality though... Or a co-ordinated hack on some big crypto exchanges, that would probably have the same affect on GPU price/availability. :D
