I tried to drop mine to 4000 CL15 but it wouldn't manage it, only 3600 CL14, 3900 CL15, 4200 CL16.

I tested in Witcher 3 and heavily modded Minecraft ages ago and gains were minimal / insignificant at best. +200 Mhz with 2 extra cas lost a couple of FPS on average.

And Anno games also run shockingly when the FPS counter is turned on, 80 FPS in 2070 and 30 FPS in 1800 with a 10900K and 1080 Ti (they are massive CPU hogs).

I need to update my BIOS and drivers anyway so will start fresh once I get round to doing that.

Oh my, I finally spotted Ballistix Max 2x16 Gb 4400 in stock ... For £469 ewww.

I was wondering where all those E dies had gone. Seems like Crucial are mostly milking them on 2x8 Gb Max kits.

Unfortunately I didn't win the Euromillions max jackpot yesterday. Otherwise I'd have bought them.

From my testing Ive found that its generally only worth increasing Cas latency per 300 Mhz. 200 Mhz isnt enough increase to offset needing to raise Cas another step and actually lowers performance a bit.

You're only looking at a 1-2% performance boost per +400 Mhz at +1 Cas Latency at least above 3600 Mhz. Performance increase from ram frequency seems to flatten above 3600 CL14.

3600 CL14 / 4000 CL15 / 4400 CL16 are the sweet spots to try and aim for if possible on whichever kit you have, but at the same time not worth spending double the price to buy 4000+ rated kits over a 3600 kit and just pushing it to CL14.

But still all this ram and 5.1 Ghz 10900K and still no RTX 3080 to put with it in sight :(

I agree. I think sticking with 4000mhz cl14 is a good number. I was doing more testing, turns out cl 14-18-18-38 is not stable on TM5 with ANTA777 extreme configuration. Had to drop it to 14-19-19-36 at 1.47v and now it is rock stable. I was going to spend some time trying to get 4100 at CL14 but doesn't want to take it.

*Cries in only 3900 CL15

Testing 4100 cl 14 19 19 44 and 30 min so far on TM5 anta777 extreme is passing. Everything else set to auto. If this passes ill dial in the sub timings and post results. Voltage in bios is 1.53v but load is actually 1.498 and idle is actually 1.513. Reasonable daily voltages I think?

Thoughts?

Not had any problems yet with 1.53v daily use, and I already had them well used at 1.48 on Z390. I only went up to 1.55v max though, not going to push any higher than that.

Highest end kits are are already specified at 1.5v - 3800 CL14 Samsung B die, 4400 CL16 and 4800+ kits are mostly if not all 1.5v kits now.

Only problem with that is no more magic happening on new cheap kits due to such aggressive binning on both Micron and Samsung

I've gone up to 1.53v 24/7 currently and decided not to go past 1.55v. Infrared thermometer aimed at my ram modules after hours of memtest showed them at about 55 degrees and many people have noticed that E die doesnt care much at all about temps. I've not heard of any of them dying from being pushed past 1.5v yet.

Managed to find them for £370, still too expensive for me.

4000 or 4400?

Typically the 4000 Mhz is £350+ and 4400 £450+ for 2x16 Ballistix Max, and as such its very unlikely to manage to push 3600 Ballistix kits to 4000+ anymore.

I actually got a cheap 5800x yesterday and have been lucky to get it to run at 1900 IF, so I stuck with my 3733 AndreiD timings and upped the clock to 3800.. it ran memtest overnight with zero errors! Amazing RAM.

I used the timings he suggested for 3600 but upped the speed to 3733 on my 3600. I'll use them with my 5800X when I get that sorted too.

Still in the 99th percentile for ram on these kind of tests. My 10900K at 5.2 Ghz is only 93% :(

Also been running at 1.54v on these sticks for close to 12 months, and 1.48v prior to that on my Z390, they are still alive and faultless at 4200 Mhz CL16.

VCCIO and SA voltages only need 1.12v for this as well on my 10900K.

I also took the time to finally go through and tighten all the secondary tmings. Aida64 read went up by around 1000-2000 Mb/s (from around 58500 to 59500-60500).

The only problem with Micron E Die is the horrid secondary timings, but they don't really matter that much, still top 1% ram potential.

Which settings are you using specifically? I had overclocking issues when using his settings on the cpu side.

Morning, I think it's these here > https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/33121289 .... and also the memtest/ryzen master screenshot > https://imgbb.com/XVLkF3J

What happens with the CPU side for you?

Using his settings same as you quoted. My CPU came out as a silver sample and then I ran at stock and it came out as a gold sample.

I'm using a 5600x and supposedly these put a lot more strain on the whole thing where one or the other or both become unstable with the 5xxx series.

Since then I have just ran at stock settings I tried stock and boosting to a dirty 3600 MHz but that came out even worse as a bronze sample.

I only got gold running ram at stock I think these timings work best with the 3xxx series and not so much the 5xxx series

How much would you guys say is a reasonable amount to sell the 2x16Gb ballistix sticks for?
A mate is looking to buy my pair for his machine after reading how well they OC.
