Hi folks, thinking of getting new GPU. Just want a card to hit 60fps with mid/high settings with reasonable ease. Was thinking of the MSI 1660 super ventus (GX’35V’MS)

I have a 500w PSU and currently running a GTX970 all in a Phantom 410 case.

My budget is around £350

Appreciate some advice thanks

1660 Super were about £230 12 months ago. That was when they were current technology. Now they are old, last generation. So worth about £150 perhaps.

This pandemic has caused prices to artificially increase to more than they are worth.

Please don't waste your money. Keep using the 970 and get the 1660 next year when it drops to around £140 ish

none of them. The GPU market is for mugs right now. No point in overspending and filling the pockets of scalpers (yes i mean the legal sellers too)

If you can, use a stock alert discord to buy a nvidia FE 3060ti for £369, much better performance for the price. Otherwise I would recommend, as above, wait for stock & prices to get back to normal

Unfortunately the 3060ti is the only FE card around the £350 budget, slightly over. It can be overclocked to near the 3070fe (although the 3070 can be overclocked in turn)

last time I spotted a 3060 for sale it was £640+vat

That is why it's best to get the 3060ti fe at £369 with the help of a stock alert, nothing else compares to it for that budget, although it might be a long hard wait

You guys are not taking the fact he can sell his 970 for stupid money also into account.

Price of new card minus cost of 970 equals cost of upgrade.

If it only costs him a few quid to get a newer card that's more efficient and has newer features and has warranty and will last longer then he should look into buying now.

Waiting is for those who don't have a card to sell.
