Alternate to Lightroom (macOS)

I have a bunch or RAW files I want to go through, I thought I'd use Lightroom as that's what I used to use. But unless I'm being stupid, I can't find any way to turn off the cloud syncing.

Is there a way to turn it off that I haven't managed to spot or can someone recommend a viable alternative?

What version of lightroom? If you install classic, it lets you disable cloud syncing where as LR CC doesn’t.

Affinity Photo is worth a look!

Affinity Photo is a good pixel editor but for a RAW file you have to develop and then send to the photo persona and you have to start from scratch if you need to change what you did in Develop. With On1 you can change any edit at any time

I just installed the latest, I do have a license key for Lightroom 6 so I'll probably just download that and use it.

Edit - it doesn't work with Big Sur. Grr.

I switched from LightRoom to CaptureOne and couldn’t be happier!

Yeah, I use Classic, as I’ve no desire at all to waste the pitiful upstream bandwidth we get here on uploading photos to Adobe.

CaptureOne is also very good and fast with tethering
