My brother works in the building trade and has a tendency to be clumsy with phones.

He ended up buying a CAT phone and loves it, he's had it over a year now which is some sort of record for him.

Edit: It's the CAT S60 he's got, there should be more modern handsets from the company by now I imagine. Apparently it has a thermal imaging camera which he loves for some reason.

I use a protective cases and my phones have survived multiple knocks, drops, n if stepped on etc. so you could go with a "standard" phone and stick it a good protective case.
