Does RAM speed make that much difference?

I usually just look at price to performance, ignore my current kit! There is usually a sweet spot, as above 3600MHz is usually it for AMD systems.

You do do get improved performance on Intel from overclocking ram, but its too small a difference to be worth paying as much as higher end ram costs.

Patriot Vipers still seem to be the only brand offering suitable pricing for 4000+ ram, nothing else seems worth buying past 3600, and just overclocking it yourself.
