Followed through? There's like a tenth of a second between hitting the ball and the player at real speed no way he can pull back in that time.

It’s dangerous play, simple as that

It is dangerous, but unless we're going to completely ban that kind of sliding clearance I don't see that it's a red.

No, you’re not allowed to lunge at the ball like that if it would endanger in another player.

It’s similar to players giving away fouls when making overhead scissor kicks.

You literally see that type of thing 20 times a game, the only reason its being talked about is because of the unfortunate contact. And thats what it is, unfortunate. Nothing illegal from either party, football is a contact sport. Sometimes people get hurt.

But that's not what I saw happen. He kicked the ball and his foot was in that position when the other player ran into it. Totally different to a malicious studs up slide tackle.
