Latifi and Mazepin given 3 points and 10s stop-go (really 30s post race) penalty for not respecting yellows. Makes no difference to Mazepin's finishing place but Latifi gets knocked back a place after that actually gets him a worse time penalty than Kimi gets for wiping out Vettel - who, I note, still got classified in front of the two Haas cars.

That's mighty impressive. He said in the description of his first video (Paul Ricard) that its "not 100% accurate and has been done by eye" but it's still damn good.

F1 themselves should be doing this as there is accurate GPS data. Far better than Sky's qualifying comparison laps where they pause the video on a line or other such marker! Still, it's hardly the work of a moment - perhaps something actually useful they could leverage AWS's power for?

This used to be done a lot years ago when I watching footage on BBC/Sky. Mostly they did the side by side, but sometimes there was an overlay. It's nothing new.

Yeas, FIA should release all the GPS data since they aren't really doing much with it themselves.

If there's GPS data available then they should definitely do this! It gives you so much better visualisation of what kind of corners a car/driver prefers.

The GPS data alone isn't good enough to do that. However FOM (it's them not the FIA who do this stuff) has experimented with algorithms that use a combination of GPS, timing loops and telemetry to create more accurate positioning data. I think it still wasn't accurate enough to create something like that though, it would need to be done at least somewhat by eye.
