RX 6600XT 1080p gaming for $379 on Aug 11

Not sure if serious, 6600xt 8gb, 6700 xt 12gb, on the nvidia side 3060 12gb(doesnt need it probably was going to be a 6gb then changed at the last minute) 3060ti 8gb, 3070 8gb (this one could use more).

I am serious, this should have been a 12GB card to compete with the 3060.
I've been an AMD owner for a long time and having more memory for the same price class always was their advantage so this is disappointing.

i think this is aimed at people who own a 1060ti and want an upgrade, but lets be honest here most GPU's are well overpriced. as you're pretty much getting a rebranded 5700XT with a slightly higher clock. Personally i would wait till Q4 of 2022 / 2023 for any massive gains when raytracing is better tweaked on the AMD cards.

I just saw they are allowing pre-orders for the 3060 Ti LHR cards that are coming in next week. Pre-ordered one.
I was looking forward to 6600XT and see what it can offer, but if it's really just a repackaged 5700XT then I'm going for the 3060 Ti when its on offer like this.

Actually it was a pity that the 590 was the only thing we saw from 12LP refresh.
That die even had a different codename (Polaris30 XT rather than Polaris20 XT).
And of course the 590 was pushed to crazy clocks whereas Zen to Zen+ showed that 12LP could be a lot more efficient than 14LPP.
A 12LP RX575 or even RX465 could have been very efficient.
Typical AMD: spend all the money to respin something then only try to recoup the costs by increasing the price rather than shipping in volume.

Comparing the 6600XT is very comparable to the (NON XT) 5700 model, Shading Units 2304 compared to 6600xt which has 2048, ROPS 64, But the 6600XT only has 128bit bus whereas the 5700 has 256bit. The only massive difference is that the 6600xt has RT Cores but from what i have seen the RT is done differently compared to Nvidia and performance is not as good. Also the Boost clock is slightly less on the non XT 5700, However if you Bios Flashed the 5700 to an XT you get the same boost clocks, obviously this doesn't increase the Shader Units but gives around the same performance as an 5700XT. I think well see the 5700XT and 6600XT give around the same performance on non RT Games maybe 6600XT being slightly higher but not by much.

6600 and 6600XT are disappointing. Navi23 in the W6600 is a bit more interesting, but Navi23 is much more than a repacked Navi10.
Navi 10 in the 5700XT is 2560:160:64 with 40 CUs.
Navi 23 in the 6600XT is 2048:128:64 in 32 CUs.
Navi 22 in the 6700 XT 2560:160:64 in 40 CUs.
Navi 22 and Navi 10 are almost a complete match though.

AMD have jacked up CPU prices and now seem to want to charge even more than Nvidia for a card with less performance and worse features than thier 3060ti.

Is Intel the only hope for 1080p gamers this generation?.

so this is basically a renamed 5700xt with less shader cores, and only 128bit bus LOL. with the only slight increase on the boost clock of 500mhz (2500)

what's that about 2% increase on performance if you own a 5700xt. pfft looks like at the time 5700xt was the best bang for buck

5700XT is also a tier above this - the comparison would be a confusingly named 6700XT

A 550w should be plenty unless your plugging in tons of extras?

Dram price has increased 50% this year alone , and along with raw materials costs rising, long gone are the days of cheap gpu`s.
