In all seriousness, I can't see anywhere in Europe other than PSG actually being bonkers enough to pony up the amount of wages he's going to want

MLS pay peanuts in comparison but would he really want to go to China?

Bizarre situation.

Here's a line from Guillem Balague that is of interested...

"To be able to keep Messi, Barca would have to reduce their wage bill by around 200m euros (£172m) and to meet La Liga's Financial Fair Play requirements."

£172m!

That's £3 and bit MILLION PER WEEK.

No wonder they were so desperate to form a new league :cry::cry:

Will be infuriating if he goes to PSG. What’s the point?

If Citys is the only club that can afford his wages hopefully he goes there. Be fun to see if he really can score against Brighton and West Ham.

Sky seem to think this is Barca challenging La Liga to change its rules or lose the leagues best player.

If la liga bowed to the demands of a club just to keep a player, that would be disastrous for Spanish football

La Liga is already ****ed. If you've not seen already, La Liga are trying to agree a private equity deal that will raise around £2.5bn in exchange for 11% of tv and commercial revenue for the next 50 years! That's a horrendous deal for the League but it shows you just how desperate they are.
