Gigabyte have this week released F13 bios for a number of AMD motherboards with Update AMD AGESA ComboV2 1.2.0.3 B for Ryzen 5000 G-Series processors support

I updated my Gigabtye A520M DS3H with the new bios with no issues, apart from having to reset secure boot.

Can anyone tell me if these cpus have hdmi 2.1 support as I am wanting to build a htpc that supports hdr formats and 4K

thanks
Pretty sure the answer is (still) no as was already discussed earlier in the thread (posts #5) onwards.

They might have DP 1.4 which is enough for 4K @ 120Hz but good luck finding DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapters without spending a fortune.

AFAIK they do (the 4xxxG chips did), but it will depend on motherboard support to ensure the HDMI circuitry on the board supports 2.1.

I purposely bought the B550i Aorus because it did support 2.1 datapaths.

Will the 5600g/5700g run on an A320 motherboard?
I've seen some competitors selling prebuilds with 5600g paired with Asus prime K A320 mobos and was wondering if it was legit.

Yes, but all the spec pages keep saying 2.1 but the also say max 4K @ 60Hz.

Maybe the mobo manufacturers are just covering themselves, but if I was buying for 4K @ 120Hz I would want to see it in action first.

Last I heard, AMD told motherboard makers to stop offering support for zen 3 with 3x0 boards, but I know there are bios around, asrock definitely published some before they were taken down. The APUs need a later BIOS, I assume, so I don't know where they would be getting that.

Is there a gfx that would support it ? Not bothered about 120hz 4K as no movies or video files will be In That format. I have a old i3 pc with a very old gfx card and was deciding either keeping it and putting a new gfx in there of get a new system and cpu with a built gfx that can

this is just a htpc only not a games machine. But wanted to support 4K and all the hdr formats.
Thanks

Yes, I already have an 1030 DDR5, at the time I was told to avoid the DDR3 models.
Jebus, Nvidia have a DDR3 equipped cards too?

Nah it was DDR4 rather than DDR3, but still terrible :)

I reckon overclockers will add this as pre-order around August first week at the cost around between £360-£380 inc VAT for AMD Ryzen 5700G

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £338.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Vega does not have support for hdmi 2.1 at hardware level, no so called hdmi 2.1 mobo will bypass that.
vega as a graphics architecture is distinct from the VCN and DCN blocks for video encode/decode and video display-out. they can and have updated the video and display portions in prior APU's.

Haven't really found any professional reviews covering proper iGPU tests with all memory speed, dual/single rank, and overclocking.
Over on the Anandtech forums a user, Shivansps, ran some tests:

There are more in that linked posting. 42/35 for the slowest 5600G vs the fastest is 20%.

Went looking for some more and all I found was this user, Reous, on the Hardwareluxx.de forums
https://www.hardwareluxx.de/communi...se-und-laberthread-5700g-5600g-5300g.1294488/
Their two results show 32.7% and 27.9%

but more interestingly they also kept and eye on power usage:

No surprise, but overclocking the IMC is not free.

Interesting. 4 sticks of fast single rank looks to be the way to go. 2360mhz 1-1 is insane bandwidth. 4x4gb of fast single rank is probably the way to go. I’m trying to remember the make of those 4gb sticks all the LN2 boys preferred.

Would be nice to play with, pity the 5700G is so expensive.

If normally 5700G's Vega 8 is between a GT 1030 GDDR5 and a RX 550, 30% more performance brings it closer to a RX 460
Ne7Fjau.png
Which is around 7970/280X or 680/770 speed at a fraction of the power usage.

If you had a FreeSync or FreeSync pro monitor (whatever AMD are calling it now) that allows the APU to operate within its VVR range it might offer a little more than that, or the equivalent of if you get what I mean.
