Weird Growth in Loop

Hey everyone,

I had my loop for around 6 weeks now and all my parts are new including: CPU block, GPU block, pump, reservoir, radiators x2 and hard tubing. They are all brand new and never used. Given that my CPU and GPU block have acrylic tops, I can see that they were absolutely clean without any debris at all when I purchased them. I rinsed them with distilled water for 30 minutes or so before installing them. For the radiators, I have cleaned and rinsed them as well for several hours to remove any debris from the factory. I did this religiously to ensure that both radiators were completely cleaned before I installed them.

Currently, I am using Dazmode protector (https://www.dazmode.com/shop/watercooling/liquids/performance-liquid/dazmode-protector/) which is an anti-corrosion and biocide coolant. People claim this is the same stuffs as Feser One from Germany. It recommends mixing 100mL of this coolant with up to 900mL of distilled water. I mixed 100mL of this coolant with 700mL of distill water in my loop.

Anyhow, my watercooling loop has been running for 6 weeks (my computer is usually turned off at night time) and I find this weird growth in my loop. As you can see from the pictures and videos below, there are blotches of white spots which look like mold/lint and appear fluffy too. You can see these spots along the hard tubing, CPU waterblock and reservoir. Also, you can see a thin layer of this fluffy stuff on the surface of the water in the reservoir.

Any idea what this is? Is this algae growth?

Here are the pics and videos:

Feser One is rubbish and was well known for seperating and clogging up the loop. It happened to many of us on here, myself included. If that stuff you are using is really the same as Feser One then I would drain the loop, flush the pipes and rad and strip the blocks for cleaning and then rebuild and refill with some decent coolant such as Mayhems X1.

Does the mayhem X1 clear actually stay clear? or is it more of an opaque color ? I heard that a lot of the clear coolants including EK cryofuel, or mayhem or Hydro X isn't really that clear.. more like cloudy

IMO clear coolants stay clear, but soft tubes can go cloudy.

FWIW I've had Mayhems X1 in my loop for several months now and it's still crystal clear. This is a loop in which the previous coolant turned blue (chemical reaction) and had some growth/deposits in. I cleaned it with Mayhems blitz, reassembled all parts including acrylic tube and it's been great so far.

The best coolant i've ever used was halfords Deionised water lol, it was a loop with a cpu block, xspc rads, dual 680's and lasted 4-5 years. Even then when i drained the loop, the water was clear, no debris or weirdness, inside of the tubes were clean and the blocks were still perfect.

The most important part of any loop is flushing whatever was in there before, once its cleaned and thoroughly flushed there should be no problems.

I use ASDA. Year and a half on and it's still clear.

Asda you say? How much for a 5L bottle? If its cheaper than halfords, i might try it. I use it for flushing as well so i use a fair bit when im doing builds.

Pretty sure it was 2 pound something.

It's in the car section. I've used it for years and years. Don't think I've ever bought distilled water. Usually use biocide but I forgot to put it in my son's build and it's been fine since Christmas 2019
