Id say the Taliban and ISIS could be working together, can't defeat an army like that

Gonna be a lot of complex issues in that respect - i.e. central Taliban tend to be somewhat more towards moderate while some of those from other provinces are hardline types who'd have more sympathy towards ISIS if the Taliban leadership was taking a more moderate position even temporarily.

I'm surprised China hasn't kicked up a bit. I think they could come up with lots of interesting comments if warned about Taiwan after this embarrassment.

The state sponsored media are - making all sorts of comments about Taiwan.

Pentagon brief live just now said bomber was being searched by US forces but the Taliban is on the perimeter of the airfield and suppose to scan people coming in.
he said thats the current belief what actually happened isn't known, he doesn't know the attackers sex even.

seems very few details are known at all apart from it was very close to a gate.

Love bojo on the news saying any afghans trying to leave should be allowed to leave by the taliban, if not sanctions etc

you know if something happened in this country and suddenly a big brain drain started happening they would do whatever they could to try and trap the highest educated people.

It's almost like a form of warefare in itself dictating another country must let the educated leave.

did our politicians forget North Korea exists? the country in the world far worse than Afghanistan when it comes to peoples rights, also Gaza israel doesn't let them leave.

oh wait israels a friend you can't speak bad about them, even Palestinians in israel itself can't freely move around like the jews can, if they get a pass to visit somewhere else in the country there's a good chance they don't get back to their home if it was in one of the jewish parts.

Must be nice to pick and choose where your moral and ethics are applied

They can't really be described as army. There is loads of in-fighting and factions doing their own thing within the taliban. The figurehead pretends to be in charge, but is trying to herd murderous cats high on opium.

The sad and ironic truth is that coalition forces will need Taliban to maintain order outside the airport when troops start pulling out en masse and their numbers twindle down to skeleton crews with no one left to man the walls.

Can anyone else believe that pentagon chief basically said Taliban were tasked with keeping us safe and they failed us. I mean Taliban, TALIBAN tasked with KEEPING NATO troops SAFE.

While at it, we gave them a list of all NATO collaborators who worked for last 20 years at defeating said Taliban.

Take a step back, imagine this was a month ago. You'd think this was The Onion.

it’s not become clear the Western forces left behind all the data and documents that identify who worked with them against the Taliban.

Who ever is responsible has signed their death sentences via torture, and frankly, they themselves need prison time for this betrayal.

We are not, and have never been, good guys.

Tbf it was left in the hands of the government.

Who would need it for payroll/identification of their own forces

Wasn't that what everyone said would happen after brexit? All of the educated people would go to Europe.
