London gets used quite a bit for boat sales. London airport etc makes it easy for buyers to visit via heli or jet. The docks near Canary Wharf see quite a few.

If this interests you, then Yachts For Sale is a great channel.

My uncle worked for a Dutch yacht building company years ago (like 17 is years ago) and did loads of work on these things.

Their pricing structure was very simple: €1m per meter. Oh and that's base spec, yanno... window winders and plastic cups. That could very easily triple or even quadruple when people started asking about self-playing pianos, crystal chandeliers, marble floors, etc. The amount of money you can spend on these vessels is frankly ludicrous.

just need a lottery win..
... o wait that isn't enough :(

Maybe if you get a multiple rollover EuroMillions jackpot or one of the record-breaking US draws.

Otherwise best get working on that tech startup, hedge fund/trading venture or go large on the next biggest thing in the world of crypto.

Estimated yearly cost of running one is 8-10 million :s so not just expensive to buy.

Nah, it’s generally circa 10%* so about 2 million.

*(Or at least for a new yacht like this one in that price range, older second hand yachts that have depreciated will obvs have higher running costs relative to their purchase price)

What costs so much, is it the salaries of all the staff?
