Hi Everyone,

I've finally taken the plunge and joined the forums. I've been into PC building since I was in my teens. I took a break and went down the pre-built route (with customisations) but, it never really excited me and always is a trade-off. I'm now back to customised builds and I have ventured into an AMD processor which has really surprised me.

Has anyone else come back to the pc building scene? What is everyone's surprise purchase that was better than what you thought it would be like?

Hello, and a belated welcome to the forums :)

I'll never forget the first time I bought and installed an SSD, couldn't believe the difference it made!

It's the one bit of hardware that seemed to give the most return out of everything I have ever bought.

Indeed. Not wanting to count my chickens yet but I haven’t had a ssd failure yet. My father has had one but I can’t quite recall how it failed. It was some strange behaviour in windows
