Looking to buy a new moutherboard and notice quite a few don’t have a TPM chip, although some have the header to allow a separate chip to be purchased.

Some motherboards have a setting in the bios called AMD CPU fTPM, which I believe is a software based version of tpm. For the purpose of running Windows 11 is this supported? I know some people have got past the compatibility check with this turned on but is it officially supported or is there a chance it could stop working once Windows 11 is released?

I don’t want to purchase a motherboard that I can’t run Windows 11 on.

thanks.
