Just sorting out the in laws WiFi. It's been really bad but with the introduction of BTs black discs, things have improved. Documentation however seems fairly poor, so I'm wondering, are they access points and repeaters?

Reason I ask, they have an Ethernet port on the rear which can take a WiFi signal and use it to connect say a TV or games console in a different room. That suggests to me that the WiFi disc has to be able to at least kind of see the hub? Yet obviously you can connect to the discs wirelessly too. Ergo, if I was to take the Ethernet port of one disc and connect it to the rear of another disc, say in the garage, far away from the hub, would it work (daisy chain).

If not, what would? I'm guessing any decent AP, but not sure what's best these days.

You should be able to connect the discs like that. I had a disc and it was hard-wired and worked great, I got rid of it because I needed more than one disc and didn't fancy signing up for the service.
