I agree that Bruce is a poor manager but surely due to the lack of investment he's not done too bad, c'mon your team is really really poor and the phrase "you can't polish a turd" is more than apt.

I'm looking at this and unless your new owners are going to appoint a massive named manager and throw £200m per transfer window it's not going to be success for many a year as you'd need 5 or 6 players every window to build up both a 1st team and some depth as well as investing in both the training and match day facilities.
Totally agree it’s a poor team absolutely no doubt about that, but when your poor you tend to have a good work ethic and a game plan and are FIT , 3 things every Steve Bruce team has never had(go back and have a look), would you honestly say player for player Brentford or Brighton have a better calliber of players than Newcastle? what they both are is very fit, very well drilled and very well set up teams managed by 2 very good managers, something you need to be if you want to give teams that are better than you a game.

Agreed and as I mentioned Bruce isn't a great manager, not sure who his replacement is but they are going to have throw mega bucks at anyone with a name and promise them much more money to spend as to attract top level players it's going to take a lot to convince them to look north of London (something all managers have moaned about in the past) not to mention a prospective relegation battle and no European football for a few years.

TBH the tea lady would do a better job than Bruce is currently doing, the good thing is currently money talks and apparently we now have a lot of that, any managers head would turn at £15m a year and £5-10m bonus for keeping us up, and being up north isn’t as bad now with all those private jets flying about.

'Mega bucks' aren't necessary and neither are top players. Just a manager with some tatical awareness and 3/4 solid additions.

Such a shame Rafa isn't free.

Staveley has already stated that you need to be challenging for the title so I would say the club requires a complete rebuild from top to bottom, will be glad to see the horrid Sports Direct decor gone finally.

I wouldn't bet against Rafa being out at Everton by the transfer window either, if he'd go back though is unknown and the damage could already be done by then as well.

Find it quite amazing that people still defend Bruce.

Only one player has progressed under his reign and that is Maxi and even that is minor.

Every other player has regressed.

We had the 7th best defence in the league and were a hard working team. We were awful to watch but the team had balance.

You can’t **** off brucie, 1000 games you know , not his fault you know , no money you know. People seem to ignore that he’s had the 8th highest transfer spend in the PL since he took over in the summer of 2019.
Anyone want to hazard a guess at how many days the Newcastle team train per week, remembering were 2nd bottom of the league?

3 days a week, that’s right he has the team in training 3 days a week, a team that’s 2nd bottom, a team that’s clearly the unfittest team in the league, spurs were like a cat with a mouse for the last 30 mins last night
