I had this with my Vega 64, my aging 850W I think it was 8 years at the time, was clearly not able to sustain the loads and spikes it used to.

I diagnosed it using OCCT and power draw and combination of stress tests with different power limits and it was definitely power load related.

I grabbed a new AX1000 and it was sorted.

with evga being a 10 yw warranty ..well mine is .. you may want to go down that route .. contact them tell them whats happening and you have diagnosed it's the psu failing .. worth a try .. :)

Well, it's so hard to diagnose a faulty PSU like this (if it's the PSU!). I'm tempted to just get a new PS and be done with it....hopefully Gibbo will pop in and say it worked!

interestingly I undervolted the Vega64 and it lasted longer when trying a password crack. It used to crash instantly but this time it lasted a good 20 seconds :D .....then crashed...

So defo seems to be power draw related I think...

It's faulty, if you were running at stock or overclocked then that's what caused it, too much power over time has damaged the components, most likely memory.
